Las Vegas Wedding Network meeting at Cili Restaurant
Last night we had yet another awesome Las Vegas Wedding Network meeting. This time the venue was Cili Restaurant and Bar at Bali Hai golf course. When I entered the room it was packed full of friendly faces, new faces and an overall feeling of excitement.
Our meetings are growing tremendously and I’m so pleased to see that it’s working for the Las Vegas Wedding community. From friends I see on a regular basis like Kim Sakren from A Perfect Wedding Dance (as usual wearing one of her fashionable hats) to another friend I haven’t seen in about 7 years (Jack Vosburg of JCS Video) I was thrilled to see the gathering of wedding professionals, many of them competitors, all in one room having a great time, networking and enjoying the always delicious and well presented hors d’ oeuvres from Cili.
Thank you Kathy Dyke of Cili! This woman is just great. Cili has been an advertiser on my site; VegasVows.com for almost 10 years now, and doing business with her has always been a pleasure and a first class operation. Kathy gets it when it comes to marketing. With over 80 people in the wedding business she took the opportunity to showcase Cili and looked at it like a great opportunity to promote Cili to people who matter. Even with Facebook, Twitter, blogs and all the other stuff that’s out there, word of mouth is still the best and I’m sure over 80 people walked away with good words in there mouth, great food in their tummy and happy thoughts in their head.
Andy Ebon’s “anti-social media presentation” proves my point. It’s not about how many friends and colleagues you have on Facebook, etc. it’s about the quality of those friends and colleagues. Andy is well known for his wedding marketing expertise and is a co-founder of the Las Vegas Wedding Network.
A very special thank you needs to go to my other co-founder Debbie Hansen for donating 2 entries to the Wedding MBA as raffle prizes. What an incredible thing to win; admission and entry to all the exhibits and seminars scheduled for the upcoming convention right here in Las Vegas, NV.

Las Vegas Wedding Network Meets at Canyon Gate
The July LVWN meeting at Canyon Gate Country Club was a hit with everyone enjoying the opportunity to network and learn about preparing for their next bridal show.
Here is a comment from one of LVWN members: “I appreciate it greatly and enjoyed being there with everyone. I think the skit idea was great and proved to be a tremendous ice breaker! Keep up the good work, you guys are building a wonderful resource and network of professionals.” Gabriel Ortiz, All Event Disc Jockeys.
All Events Disc Jockeys provided the sound and lighting for the event, table decorations and Chivari Chairs were provided by Naakiti Floral Design and “Sit On This”. Dessert was provided by D’s Cheesecakes. The event was hosted by Shelley Sampson and Canyon Gate. Shelley and her team did a fabulous job of coordinating every detail.
The attendees were given guidelines to use to perform skits that covered the following topics:
- Pre-show promotion
- Setting up Booth Furniture
- Decorating the booth
- Salesmanship at the booth
The skits were awesome as they presented the do’s and don’ts of successful exhibiting with follow up tips by Bridal Spectacular Show Producer, Debra Hansen. Everyone left with a better understanding of what to expect when they participate in a bridal show.

Great Networking and Education at Fairway Terrace by Putters

What a great group of wedding professionals! The evening started with great food provided by Soiree’s Catering and the venue Fairway Terrace @ Putters was perfect for this fun and informative event. Tonights seminar presented by Monica Morgan of VegasVows was on working with Constant Contact. Andy Ebon was there to add his advice too. Harry O provided the background music and everyone was treated to a Candy Station provided by Sweet Sensations. Thanks to everyone of our wedding professionals that provided their time and products for this event.
We look forward to seeing everyone again on July 1 at Canyon Gate where the topic for the evening will be preparing for bridal shows!

The opening program provided by Daniel Phoenix of Treasure Map was fun and got all of the guests interacting and bonding with each other in a truly creative way. The room was divided into teams and given 2 assignments they had about 20 minutes to put together. Then we were all treated to spontaneous poems, saw hillarious skits and creative puppet shows; all in the name of making new networking contacts in a new and unique way. Team signs were provided by First Dance Cards and awards were provided by Godiva Chocolates.
Then we moved to the educational program provided by Andy Ebon, wedding industry expert! The seminar provided helpful and timely information on the best ways to followup on your bridal show and other wedding web site leads. The Focus was on e-mail programs and mailing of postcards. The evening ended with the raffling of some great wine donated by The Bridal Spectacular and Las Vegas Wedding Network, Spa Bags provided by VegasVows.com and a fabulous round of golf donated by Bear’s Best!
